It is winter, so basketball season is in full swing. Watching the three older kids play is such a fun activity. The older they get, the more fun it is. My favorite part is that they seem to be dedicated to playing with high energy on the court, and hustle, hustle, hustle. The results are varying, but the attitude is the same. Go Patriots!!
Audrey is starting to think that she might like to go to Grace next year. If she does, all four will be there. Our first semeter at Grace has been positive, and I think the kids are really enjoying it. The competition in the classroom has been good for them also.

They are growing up!
My children are growing up way too quickly. Top photo is from vacation 7 years ago. Bottom photo is from vacation this past July on the same pier.

Hello folks. Sorry that we haven't updated this in quite a while.
Things have changed since the last time that I posted...and some things have remained the same.
Ashlie is still the heart and soul of our home, and I love her more and more every day.
The kids? Well, that is probably the place in life that has changed the most. It was hard on our vacation trip this summer to realize that they are growing up, and things will never be the same agian. Each one of them has his/her own likes and dislikes, and personality. It is a new phase in life we are entering, and I trust God will give us the wisdom and guidance to navigate it to His glory and their benefit.
Hope to post more soon!

That took me a while but I finally figured out how to sign Adam and me in to this blog. It has been too long! Maybe between us both we will be able to update this blog somewhat frequently. How about a picture?

Baseball and Softball season

We are right in the middle of my favorite sport to watch. Baseball and softball season! Alli has been practicing and playing games for a little while now. Jacob has just started practicing. The coach told Jacob that he is one of four boys that will be pitching this year. He is so excited about that. Michael has decided not to play this year, which is fine with me. I was a little sad when he made his final decision not to play. It is nice having only 2 teams to keep up with this year. Here are some pictures from some of Alli's games.

A post by Alli

Meagan and Mamaw had a birthday party this weekend. We had cake. Mamaw's cake was a banana cake. Meagan's cake was a butterfly and flower cake. We had fun playing kick ball and other games at Meagan's birthday party. We played basketball at Mamaw's birthday party.
We are finished with Wednesday school until January. On Wedensday we are going to story hour and Mamaw said we could decorate her Christmas tree.
Love,
Alli

Audrey

This morning when I got out of the shower, I went into the kitchen and found Audrey sitting on the floor scooping up handfuls of cheerios and putting them BACK in the box. Makes me wonder how many times she has done that before.
Just now I was doing a reading lesson with Audrey and I told her she did a very good job reading today. She looked up at me, smiled and said, "I'm a genious." I don't know what I am going to do with her. :)

Are you happy now?

After receiving some flack over our lack of posting, I thought I would make a new post. I will try to do better at keeping this blog up. I will mostly post pictures because I usually don't have a whole lot to say. Adam is better at all the writing. I have been working on Christmas bows lately. I like how this one turned out.

New post ~ finally!
It is winter, and basketball season is in full bloom. Ashlie prefers baseball, but I am definitely more partial to the hardwood court. Michael, Jacob, and Allison each play on a different team, and they've won more games than they have lost...which is certainly preferable to the other option. Each of the three is one of the best defensive players on their team. I'm really not sure why, as their father's version of defense is generally to wave hello to the offensive player as he blows by me for an easy score. Perhaps it has something to do with meal-time, and the skills they have honed keeping each other from grabbing that last tansy chicken nugget or piece of apple pie. Whatever the reason, it works well.
Michael is the point guard for his team, and surprisingly has learned how to pass quite well at an early age. Once again, he didn't get that from me. I haven't yet learned how to make a pass at his mother that accomplishes anything...

Reality
I was thinking today that I would like a pulpit right now, and a willing congregation, to preach on the reality of the child of God - particularly the believer. God is real, Grace is real, and Heaven is real. The things of this life are real, but they are swiftly passing by and some day will not be in existence. Heaven will be, though. Heaven is not some dream or fantasy, but it is real, and someday will be the only reality we know.

If someone could email me, or mail me, the words and music to the hymn "It Is Finished," I would be most greatful.
