President's Day

I am not sure how we managed to get today off as a holiday, but am glad to have it nonetheless. I changed the contactor in my AC unit, and then we played a little pitch and catch in the backyard to try to encourage spring to finally get here. Somehow the smell of cowhide gloves just seem to make the weather a tad warmer. Pick starts "kid pitch" this year, and we are trying to focus in on the strike zone. He should get a chance to pitch a little this season. Jakey will either be in t-ball or coach pitch. Basketball is more fun for me, but Mrs. Green prefers the summer sport.

I had to work today. But, almost all of our snow melted in 8 short hours. What a change since this morning! I sure miss softball and baseball, and I am glad you enjoyed the day together.

Isn't pick suppose to be mick?

Pick is Michael, Nanny. Pick is short for Pickle and the nickname he gets called in baseball and basketball.

I didn't know that!!!!

I have to agree with Mrs. Green about the summer sports. Here in St. Louis, we love the St. Louis Cardinals!!! (Right, Strem?) Just seeing the news reports of Spring Training makes me feel warm, until I look outside and see traces of snow on the ground.

I like going to the game in Missouri. I am not sure what team we are watching, or where, but it is always a good time. They have this park close by where the water sprays up at differnt times and it is fun to watch the kids play in it. There is also a ice skating rink not far. It makes a great vacation.

While I would be more than happy (ecstatic!) to host any of you while attending a game here in the Gateway to the West, I must warn you that I may have to wear my Cubs blue during any baseball outings. I would not want Miss Lydia's facetiousness to lead you astray.

Please consider booking all vacations in the St. Louis metro area. We have numerous "bed and breakfasts (and lunches and dinners and midnight snacks)" which will be glad to put you up!
